A friend of mine, Jeff, had brought to my attention of a website called couchsurfing.org where I am able to connect to other travelers living in various countries around the world. The idea of the website is to host travelers hoping that others will host you in return when you travel. I have sent out a couple e-mails to some people who seem respectful and trustworthy. 3 of which have told me that they are either traveling or will be too busy to host, but one of them has accepted my request! I will be staying with him for as long as he may be comfortable or until I decide it is time to move on to the next location. I am very excited to be able to meet someone and connect with a local of Glasgow so soon into my trip. I can't wait to meet him. I hope I do not annoy him with endless questions haha because he sounds like he has experienced a lot on his own travels and has grew up in a culture that is unfamiliar to me. Hopefully I'll have something to share that he would be interested in as well.
